Plan Your Visit
We're so excited to celebrate with you in Louisiana. Here you'll find everything you need to plan your visit — from where to stay and how to get here, to what to expect throughout the weekend.
The Location
Houmas House Estate & Gardens
40136 Highway 942, Darrow, Louisiana 70725
Set along the Mississippi River between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Houmas House brings together a grand historic mansion, sprawling gardens, and centuries-old live oaks. Our ceremony will take place outdoors in front of the mansion. Afterward, we'll move indoors to air-conditioned spaces for cocktails, dinner, and the evening's festivities.

Hotel websiteGetting Here
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport
A good starting point when comparing flights, particularly if you'd like to spend extra time in New Orleans. Allow approximately one hour to Houmas House in ordinary traffic, plus time to collect luggage and your rental car. Traffic and weather can extend the journey.
Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport
Another convenient option worth comparing for your departure city. Allow approximately 45–60 minutes to Houmas House, depending on traffic, plus time for baggage collection and your rental car.
WHEN TO ARRIVE
ARRIVAL
Friday evening or Saturday morning
We recommend arriving Friday evening or Saturday morning. If you're flying on Saturday, choose an arrival that leaves plenty of time for baggage collection, your rental car, the drive, hotel check-in, and getting ready. An early arrival is best — please avoid an itinerary that depends on everything running exactly on time.
DEPARTURE
Sunday evening or Monday
If you'd like to attend Sunday's farewell brunch, we suggest an evening flight or a Monday departure. We'll share the brunch time here so you can plan accordingly. All wedding events take place in Central Daylight Time.
Getting Around
We recommend renting a car for the weekend, especially if you're staying off-site or would like to explore the area. Reserve your vehicle in advance, and check the rental counter's hours if your flight arrives late. A standard sedan is suitable; families or guests sharing a vehicle may prefer an SUV.
Please arrange your transportation home from the reception in advance, including a designated driver or a prebooked car service if you plan to drink.

What to Wear
Formal Attire
We would love everyone to dress for an elegant evening celebration. Suits and ties, floor-length gowns, elegant midi dresses, and formal evening separates are welcome. Tuxedos are welcome but optional. Please save jeans, shorts, polos, and casual footwear for the rest of the weekend.
The ceremony will take place outdoors, with some walking through the grounds. Consider the warm Louisiana weather when choosing fabrics and footwear — block heels or dressy flats may be more comfortable on garden paths. The celebrations afterward will be indoors with air-conditioning.
Explore the Area
Whether you're here for the weekend or making a longer trip of it, there's time to enjoy a little Louisiana.
At Houmas House
Explore the gardens, book a mansion tour, visit the Great River Road Museum, or make a dining reservation on the property. Check directly for hours, reservations, and admission details.
Gonzales
A convenient place for a casual meal, last-minute essentials, or shopping at Tanger Outlets.
Baton Rouge
Consider a visit to Louisiana's capital for museums, the riverfront, and a meal before or after the wedding weekend.
New Orleans
If your schedule allows, add a day or two for live music, memorable food, and exploring the city. We recommend saving a New Orleans excursion for Friday or after the wedding so Saturday stays relaxed.
